Latest Update from the Town of North Castle | Armonk NY Homes

Image
Storm Response-Halloween Safety Concerns   Trees and utility poles are down across  our Town , from  North White Plains  to  Armonk  to  Banksville  and the Eastern District. More than 3,100 homes remain without electric service. Safety is the primary concern.  Trick-or-treaters and their families need to use special caution as downed wires can be hidden from view by snow, tree limbs, etc.  Do not go near any downed power line and call 911 to report it immediately.  If a power line should fall on a car while you are in it, stay inside the vehicle and wait for emergency personnel.  Con Edison is providing additional tree crews and line crews for our Town. We are anticipating these extra workers will be able to make a large step forward towards restoring power for a large number of customers. Municipal Representatives from Con Edison are working here in the building 24 hours a day. We have been told that dry ice will be delivered from Con Edison to

Wis. man accused of torching home in foreclosure | Armonk NY Real Estate

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - A 46-year-old Green Bay man has been charged with setting fire to his home that was in foreclosure. Timothy R. Porter was charged Friday with a felony count of arson. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison. A criminal complaint says Porter's $69,300 home is in a foreclosure action by a bank. Prosecutors say Porter set fire to the home Wednesday. A neighbor told investigators Porter had been removing items from the house earlier in the day and left shortly before smoke and flames began pouring from a basement window. A Green Bay Press-Gazette report ( http://gbpg.net/oueGmQ ) says Porter's bond was set at $2,000 cash. The Associated Press tried to reach Porter Saturday but his telephone number was disconnected. Online court records didn't list a defense attorney. Information from: Green Bay Press-Gazette, http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com Copyright 2011 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. Buying A Rural Home In Maryland - Acreage To Start Your Own Farm | Armonk Realtor

There are many people who are now looking at becoming more sustainable through their own efforts. Collecting rain water, harvesting energy from the sun, and growing fruit and vegetables are just some of the areas that people are working on. If you’re really keen, rather than growing your own food on a quarter acre block, you could consider going the whole farm route – and it’s not going to cost you the earth. One of the effects of the economic crisis that gripped the world over recent years has been the downturn in real estate prices. For example, the further away from major centers a home is, the bigger the drop in prices. In the state of Maryland, there are very good rural properties of five or more acres, with decent homes of three or bedrooms, sell
