Are we becoming a rental society? | Mt Kisco NY Realtor

"(The) single-family rental market is becoming a new asset class. Blackstone , Colony , Deutschebank are all investing billions," said moderator Sharif Mahdavian, managing director for Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services. "So how is it affecting the mortgage environment?" "It looks to us like a viable business," said Joseph Buonanno, a partner with Hunton & Williams. "Whether this is cyclical or temporary, or the new new thing, I think it’s probably too early to say we will change decades of history and change to a rental society." Steven Abrahams, head of securitization and mortgage-backed securities research at Deutsche Bank Securities , says he sees this trend as an anomaly. He says the flood of capital to the rental side just reflects the withdrawal of capital from the mortgage side. "As the population grows and rates of household formation rebound to normal, we will see a return of owner occupant capital," Abr...

Bedford resident Kerry Kennedy's trial for driving under the influence will begin on Monday, Feb. 24 in White Plains. The jury selection for the trail will take place Thursday, Feb. 20 and Friday, Feb. 21, though Kennedy will not be present for those days because she will be out of the country. Kennedy is the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, niece of John F. Kennedy and ex-wife of Gov. Andrew Cuomo. She was arrested in July 2012 in Armonk after an accident in which her Lexus hit a tractor-trailer. She was charged with driving under the influence of an unknown substance, a misdemeanor. 1,000+ Sign Petition to Keep LES Open | Lewisboro Real Estate

Save Katonah-Lewisboro Schools reached a major milestone yesterday. More than 1,000 individuals have signed a petition to keep Lewisboro Elementary School open in 2014. The petition asks the Board to properly, fully and inclusively address all relevant issues of all stakeholders in order to serve the short- and long-term best interests of the community . The Board of Education continues to refer a small group of families that are interesting in stopping the school from being closed. However, 1,000+ individuals is not a small group. Given that voter turnout for the last school budget vote was 1,926 votes, we view the petition to be a political mandate for the Board to suspend the current timeline in order to properly address all relevant issues. Please sign this petition and ask local relatives, friends and neighbors to do the same, to ensure our voices are heard and we can influence the outcome of this process. The Board will hold one more public hearing on 1/16, with a final ...

Real estate drone tours: Pioneers are learning on the fly | Bedford Hills NY Homes

Rob Seaver could tell that the pilot was concerned. The clearance between the bridge and an overhanging tree branch was only about 5 feet, he said. It would be a tough fit for the drone. “The other guy from their team was standing on the bridge ready to grab it in case something happened,” Seaver said. Thankfully, the airborne vehicle glided through the gap, securing flyover footage of a creek bed in Westmoreland Park in Bethesda, Md. The close call in the park was just one of several difficulties that Seaver — marketing manager for the Bethesda-based Wydler Brothers , of the brokerage Long and Foster — encountered in helping to produce a neighborhood tour of Westmoreland Hills that featured footage captured by a drone. - See more at: http://www.inman.com/2013/12/27/real-estate-drone-tours-pioneers-learning-on-the-fly/?utm_source=20131227&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=dailyheadlinesam#sthash.mySf4nP3.dpuf
