1,000+ Sign Petition to Keep LES Open | Lewisboro Real Estate

Save Katonah-Lewisboro Schools reached a major milestone yesterday. More than 1,000 individuals have signed a petition to keep Lewisboro Elementary School open in 2014. The petition asks the Board to properly, fully and inclusively address all relevant issues of all stakeholders in order to serve the short- and long-term best interests of the community.

The Board of Education continues to refer a small group of families that are interesting in stopping the school from being closed. However, 1,000+ individuals is not a small group. Given that voter turnout for the last school budget vote was 1,926 votes, we view the petition to be a political mandate for the Board to suspend the current timeline in order to properly address all relevant issues.

Please sign this petition and ask local relatives, friends and neighbors to do the same,
to ensure our voices are heard and we can influence the outcome of this process. The Board will hold one more public hearing on 1/16, with a final vote on 1/23.

Whether you have concerns about educational impact, redistricting, taxes, property values, impact on local businesses, or budgetary necessity, please attend the hearing and contact Katonah-Lewisboro School District BoE Members members directly to voice your concerns:
