Wis. man accused of torching home in foreclosure | Armonk NY Real Estate
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - A 46-year-old Green Bay man has been charged with setting fire to his home that was in foreclosure.
Timothy R. Porter was charged Friday with a felony count of arson. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.
A criminal complaint says Porter's $69,300 home is in a foreclosure action by a bank.
Prosecutors say Porter set fire to the home Wednesday. A neighbor told investigators Porter had been removing items from the house earlier in the day and left shortly before smoke and flames began pouring from a basement window.
A Green Bay Press-Gazette report (http://gbpg.net/oueGmQ ) says Porter's bond was set at $2,000 cash.
The Associated Press tried to reach Porter Saturday but his telephone number was disconnected. Online court records didn't list a defense attorney.
