Blessing of the Animals This Weekend at Two Kisco Churches
October 4th is the feast day for St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment. As a result, many churches observe the Sunday closest to October 4 with a blessing for the animals. Two local churches are having the blessing of the animals this weekend.
Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church will have their service on Saturday, October 2 at 10:00 am.
Saint Francis of Assisi Church will have the Bblessing of the animals on Sunday, October 3 at 3:30 p.m. near the Statue of Our Lady.
For those that want to wait until next week, the United Methodist Church of Mount Kisco will have a blessing of the animals in their pumpkin patch on Sunday, October 10.
