Walt Disney's Sinatra-Approved Former Party Pad Wants $535K | Mt Kisco Real Estate
It may not be as castle-like as his old Los Feliz estate, or as over the top as the mansion that sits on the site of his last home, but what Walt Disney's former ranch-style retreat in Mountain Center, Calif. lacks in grandeur it makes up for in Rat Pack history. "This was where the Smoke Tree crowd would go to get away from everyone," the listing agent for the property tells the Hollywood Reporter. "There are confirmed stories of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin going up to this small home, which was about a 15-mile drive away from the main house. People would go up there and party; half would sleep inside on sleeping bags, others on the deck. There was even a zip line mounted where you could ride over the canyon." Sounds like a hoot and a half! Other noted guests include Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, and Humphrey Bogart. And speaking of Bogart, the rotating ceiling fan system seen in Casablanca was apparently installed in the living room in the 1970s. Just listed at $535K, the 1,440-square-foot post-and-beam was last sold in 2005 for $575K, and before that in 2003 for $375K. It's only got one bedroom, and sadly, the zip line is gone, but it has a devilish red kitchen, a nice view-boosting set of rear windows, and sits on just under three acres of desert land not too far from Sinatra's old party pad. Give it a look below....
