Bedford Police Find Intoxicated Man Without Pants Sleeping In Wrong House | Mt Kisco Real Estate

BEDFORD, N.Y. – A 42-year old Bedford man was recently found asleep on a couch without pants in local residence that was not his own, Bedford Lieutenant Jeffrey Dickan said.
Benito A. Jara-Caballero is now facing a misdemeanor charge of second-degree criminal trespassing following the May 5 incident, in which he was discovered intoxicated and asleep in only a t-shirt and underwear on a couch inside the residence of 414 Bedford Road in Bedford Hills, according to police.
“The whole thing was a little bizarre,” said Dickan. “It seems he just was intoxicated and wandered into the wrong home. The house was unlocked. There was no breaking and entering.”
The defendant was found on the couch around 5:45 a.m. by the homeowner and homeowner’s 13-year old daughter. After telling Jara-Caballero to leave, the complainant threw the defendant's pants out the door as he walked out of the home, according to Dickan.
Dickan said Bedford Police were already in the area looking for the complainant's dog, which had escaped from the home at some point during the incident. The animal was running toward its home, and when it arrived, the complainant flagged down passing officers to report the incident involving Jara-Caballero. By that time the defendant had fled the scene.
Jara-Caballero posted a $250 bail and was released pending an appearance in Bedford Justice Court on Thursday.
